Music Forum Rules
Things that can be posted here are band reviews, suggestion threads, band discussion, ‘what are you listening to’ type threads, and band biographies. If you are a band, we’d LOVE for you to post a biography with a few streamable mp3s – there will be a special section for that, so users who are looking for new music are likely to see your topics.
If you are not a member of the band, band manager, or somehow linked to the band, anybody seen posting mp3s with their post will have it deleted and the member will be SUSPENDED. Multiple offenses will result in a permanent ban. We do not support file sharing; however, if the band contacts us, we will allow them to have their songs on here. One workaround is that you MAY link to things such as their myspace, purevolume, or last.fm which have streamable songs. Do not post links to rapidshare/torrents where you can download their music.
Band reviews should have a picture and, preferably, be album specific. Sit down, listen to one of their CDs, and post what you think. There are no rules to how lengthy it should be, but posts just saying “THIS SUCKS!” or “They’re really good” doesn’t really help. Try to describe their music, relate it to other CDs by them or similar artists, and give reasons to why you like or don’t like it. You’re trying to help somebody understand if they would like to buy this CD if they saw it at the store.
